"I'M FINE."
It's you. You forgot you. Good distractions. Focusing on how you can be more excellent with your work, ... more faithful to your church ... more loving to your family, ... more giving to your friends, ... more present with the kids, Good distractions help us push past feelings of being unloved, unappreciated, and unseen. <3 Furthermore, (& hear me out) why is self-love always a matter of bitter vengeance in the movies? Do you know what I mean? Those stories where the husband cheats... the boss fires instead of promotes... the kids go to a college out of state instead of staying close to home... Why does it take all of that for the main character to start "putting herself first"?
Love the Lord, your God, with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:30-31
"love your neighbor as yourself" not instead of yourself. At times, sacrifices will need to be made. But, you are not the sacrifice that everyone around you needs. In fact, if you sacrifice yourself too much, everyone loses. Don't wait for a major life change to start exploring the things that make your life special.
