BEFORE THE COUCH
16-WEEK THERAPY READINESS PROGRAM
Emotional preparation, self-awareness tools, and practical steps so that you can approach therapy with clarity and confidence
You are the expert. Sessions are perfect for allowing your personality, therapeutic approach, and takes on faith and mental health to shine through. The more of your authentic self that members see, the more likely it may be to start a clinical relationship.
Session Structure
Sessions are held on Sundays at 6pm for about 45-60 min. Bring a 45 minute session prepared or make use of the full 60 minutes. The choice is yours!
Session Content
Present on or facilitate an open discussion on faith and the assigned topic. As a general rule, sessions should be as objective and scientific as possible, but it is important for members to feel safe asking questions about the intersection of faith and the topic.
Requirements
We honor your expertise by keeping the details of the session up to you. You can leverage PowerPoint or keep it discussion-based. Feel free to use props and visuals where you see fit.
-
We ask that you be on time
-
Take attendance
-
Let attendees know how they can connect with you after your session

This certification equips professionals with groundbreaking skills and strategies that reshape how we demonstrate the intersection of mental health and faith.
In addition to the natural overlap between mental health themes and Christian principles, Trauma-Informed Spiritual Intervention addresses critical considerations:
-
Power dynamics inherent in discussions of faith and religion
-
The influence of doctrine and spiritual beliefs on how individuals process information
-
The need for an objective framework that helps professionals navigate their personal faith while maintaining professional boundaries and ethical practice
