Where emotional safety meets biblical soundness—Trauma-Informed Spiritual Intervention® equips you to heal, lead, and serve with clarity and compassion.

Alexus Lane is no stranger to holding space for people in their pain—but in recent months, her lens has shifted. As the founder of Live Empowered Coaching and a trauma-informed spiritual counselor with Flamingo Trauma Recovery, Alexus has embraced a new way of seeing trauma—not just as a clinical issue or a spiritual struggle, but as an integrated human experience that requires thoughtful, layered care.
“It has changed my approach to viewing trauma,” she shares. “I think one of the best examples I can give is that whole concept of spiritual bypassing—being intentional not to make everything so spiritual so quickly. Or religious, in the sense of, you know, that example: ‘Oh, just pray about it.’”
Instead of leaning on the language of premature spiritual answers, Alexus is learning to sit with the weight of someone’s story. Her evolving practice reflects a sacred shift: from rushing to resolve to choosing to remain present. That posture has helped her see more clearly how trauma shapes not only the body and mind but also the soul—and how, in response, people often develop spiritual barriers to protect themselves.
“It’s helped me open my eyes to see the impact of trauma,” she says, “and the spiritual barriers people can put up because of it.”
The difference isn’t just in how she hears people’s stories—it’s in the questions she asks. While Alexus has always approached her work with curiosity and care, her training in Trauma-Informed Spiritual Intervention® gave her a new framework for asking strategic questions that open up dialogue rather than shut it down.
“I feel like I’ve always asked questions,” she says, “but through the course, it’s given me a different approach—especially in conversation. I see how I’ve changed just in the way I view people and engage them.”
Alexus Lane is part of a growing community of practitioners redefining what it means to offer faith-based care in a trauma-informed world. And while she’s still exploring how to fully integrate the tools she’s learning, her presence is already making a difference—one grounded question, one deeper conversation, one brave soul at a time.
